Description

A plain white disc that sits close against the ceiling and gives light back across the whole room rather than down in a narrow pool. It measures 27cm across, with an opal white face that softens the LEDs behind it, and the driver sits inside the body so there is nothing to house separately. The light runs at 4000K, a neutral white with a cool edge that stays crisp against white paint and tile.

It is sealed against dust and water splashes, so we are happy to put it in bathrooms, shower rooms, utilities and cloakrooms, and it does honest work on a landing, in a hallway or above a back door. Output is 960 lumens, enough for a small room on its own, and we would space a few across a longer corridor or a garage ceiling. It suits anyone who wants light without a fitting hanging in the way, and it is switched on and off rather than dimmed, so a standard wall switch is all it asks for.

The build is straightforward: a shallow white body with the opal diffuser held over the face, light enough to handle easily and slim enough that it barely breaks the line of the ceiling. Cleaning wants little more than a wipe across the face with a barely damp cloth once the power is off and the fitting is cool; skip solvents and cream cleaners, which will haze the opal. The LED is fixed in place, so there is no lamp to change and nothing to buy alongside it. It carries a two year warranty. We stock it in white, and it is the one we default to for small hard-working rooms where a shade would only gather dust.
