Description

The Stockholm is a flush-mounted outdoor wall light built from galvanised steel with a silver finish and an opal glass diffuser. The fitting measures 235mm high by 210mm wide, projecting 140mm from the wall, and holds a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, exterior wall mounting beside doorways, and sheltered patio areas.

Designed for installation in coastal environments, the Stockholm carries no coastal exclusion zone and resists salt-air corrosion over extended periods. The galvanised steel construction provides the base corrosion resistance, while the silver powder-coated finish adds further protection and a clean metallic appearance. The opal glass diffuses the light output evenly, reducing glare and creating a softer ambient wash on adjacent walls and surfaces rather than a direct beam.

The flush-mount design suits installations where ceiling clearance is limited or where a low-profile fitting is preferred over projecting lanterns. The 140mm projection keeps the fitting clear of wall surfaces for bulb changes while maintaining a compact overall footprint. Can this be used in coastal locations?

Yes. The Stockholm is rated for coastal environments with no exclusion zone. The galvanised steel construction and powder-coated finish resist salt-air corrosion, making it suitable for properties near the sea.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor ambient lighting.

Is it suitable for exposed positions?

The IP54 rating protects against water splashes, but not high-pressure jets or submersion. The fitting suits covered porches, sheltered wall positions beside doorways, and areas with some overhead protection. For fully exposed positions subject to driving rain, an IP65-rated alternative would be more appropriate.

How is the opal glass cleaned?

The glass diffuser can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Switch off power at the mains before cleaning. The ribbed metal cage can be cleaned with a soft brush to remove dust and debris from between the horizontal bars.
