Description

The Stockholm Large Bollard is an 850mm galvanised steel path light with a slatted cylindrical head surrounding an E27 lampholder and an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The hot-dip galvanised finish provides corrosion resistance across all UK climates including coastal locations, and the IP65 rating seals the electrical components against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction.

Designed for driveways, garden pathways, commercial car parks and perimeter lighting where a taller bollard provides better light spread and visibility, the Stockholm stands 850mm high with a 165mm diameter head. The slatted metal cage around the diffuser directs light downwards and horizontally while reducing direct glare when viewed from standing height. The bollard accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W, allowing flexibility between warm-white LED for residential gardens or daylight-temperature LED for commercial pathway marking.

The galvanised steel construction starts with a structural steel core that is hot-dip coated in zinc, giving the silvery-grey surface tone visible in the image and providing long-term protection against rust and weathering. The base is weighted and designed to be concreted into a foundation or fixed to a hard surface with anchor bolts, depending on the installation location. Is the Stockholm bollard suitable for coastal areas?

Yes. The hot-dip galvanised steel construction is rated for coastal installation with no exclusion zone. The zinc coating provides corrosion resistance in salt-air environments where standard painted or powder-coated steel would corrode rapidly.

What bulb should I use?

The bollard takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most residential installations use a warm-white LED between 8-15W and 2700K-3000K. For commercial pathway lighting where higher visibility is needed, a daylight-temperature LED at 4000K-5000K is common. Bulbs are sold separately.

How is it installed?

The base is designed to be concreted into a foundation or bolted to a hard surface. For soft ground (lawns, flowerbeds) the bollard is typically set into a concrete footing of at least 300mm depth. For paved areas it can be surface-mounted with anchor bolts into the substrate.

What does the IP65 rating mean in practice?

IP65 means the electrical components are fully sealed against dust and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. The bollard can withstand heavy rain, garden hose cleaning and spray from sprinkler systems without water ingress.
