Description

The Step is a 91cm linear pendant light with an integrated 23W LED module running at 3000K, housed in a white powder-coated metal frame. The LED sits behind a diffuser that reflects light upwards and downwards simultaneously, spreading even illumination without creating harsh shadows or hotspots directly below the fitting.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and office desks where task lighting and ambient lighting need to combine, the Step hangs on adjustable cables that allow the fitting height to be set between 20cm and 100cm from the ceiling. The 91cm length suits worktops between 1.4m and 2m wide, providing consistent light across the surface without needing multiple fittings. The IP20 rating limits the Step to dry indoor locations only.

The white metal construction gives a 4cm profile depth and 8cm height, keeping the visual mass low enough not to obstruct sightlines across an open-plan kitchen-living space. Dimmer compatibility depends on the driver specification. The product manual linked in the Downloads tab will confirm whether this model supports dimming. If the manual indicates dimmer compatibility, use a trailing-edge LED dimmer rated for the 23W load.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable cables allow the fitting to hang between 20cm and 100cm from the ceiling. For a kitchen island or dining table, the typical suspension height is 70-80cm above the worktop or table surface, which suits rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights and above.

What does CRI 80 mean in practice?

The Colour Rendering Index of 80 means the LED reproduces colours reasonably accurately for general residential and office use. Skin tones, food and fabrics appear natural under this light, though not quite as vibrant as they would under daylight or 90+ CRI systems.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating indicates no moisture protection, so the Step is suitable only for dry indoor locations such as kitchens, dining rooms and home offices. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher ratings.
