Description

The Starbeam is an 8-light chandelier built around a central column of hand-blown clear glass, with eight curved glass arms extending from a chrome-plated metal frame. Each arm terminates in a fluted glass sconce holding an E14 bulb (sold separately). The glass is fully transparent, allowing light from the bulbs to refract through the ribbed surfaces and cast patterns onto surrounding walls and ceilings.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Starbeam measures 890mm in diameter and 750mm in drop before chain adjustment. The velvet-covered chain conceals the cable run and softens the visual transition from ceiling rose to chrome canopy. The 8-bulb configuration provides adequate illumination for a 12-16m² room when paired with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W per fitting.

The hand-blown glass construction means each chandelier carries slight variations in the curvature and thickness of the arms, giving individual character to each piece. The chrome finish on the metal frame and fittings provides a high-polish reflective surface that pairs with both traditional interiors (where it contrasts with darker woods and fabrics) and contemporary spaces (where it complements greys, whites and metallics). The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

The Starbeam takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W each and 2700K-3000K colour temperature for a traditional warm glow.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose and the dimmer switch model. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer for flicker-free performance.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 750mm drop before chain adjustment suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher. In dining rooms the chandelier typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface, so a 2.4m ceiling is the practical minimum if the chain is shortened during installation.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Starbeam to dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, kitchens with high steam levels, conservatories or any outdoor or covered outdoor locations.
