Description

The Hinkley Spyre is a 610mm diameter pendant light with six E14 candle bulb fittings housed behind a cream pleated fabric drum shade. Six vertical metal rods in a hand-hammered metallic matte bronze finish extend both above and below the shade, creating a sculptural profile that runs from the ceiling canopy through to a finial below the drum. The metal rods are arranged radially around a central vertical axis, with the hammered finish giving each rod a textured surface that catches light differently along its length.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands and entrance halls, the Spyre suits spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above where its full drop can be appreciated. The chain-suspended fitting allows height adjustment on installation between a 915mm minimum drop and a 3914mm maximum drop, giving flexibility to suit different room proportions. The six bulbs (sold separately, max 60W each) provide functional illumination for tables and surfaces below, while the fabric shade diffuses the light to prevent glare.

The hand-hammered bronze finish is applied to solid metal rods rather than a stamped or moulded frame, giving the fitting a 3-dimensional quality that reads as sculptural rather than purely functional. The metallic matte bronze tone sits between a warm brown and a dark grey depending on light conditions, pairing with oak, walnut and other mid-tone wood furniture as well as neutral wall colours. The cream fabric shade softens the industrial character of the exposed metal and provides a tonal contrast to the dark bronze.
