Description

The SpektroLED Evo is a fire-rated tilt downlight with selectable wattage (5W or 7W), four colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K) switchable on installation, and a 90-degree tilt mechanism housed in a matt black pressed steel bezel. The IP65 rating from below makes it suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms and wet-use zones as well as standard dry ceiling installations.

Designed for residential and light commercial use, the downlight fits a 70mm ceiling cut-out with a 56mm recessed depth. The male-female power connector system allows first-fix wiring to be terminated and concealed during decoration, with the luminaire itself plugged in and fitted after painting is complete. The same connector lets the fitting be removed for lamp replacement or maintenance without re-wiring. The tilt mechanism provides smooth 90-degree adjustment to direct light onto artwork, worktops, or specific zones within a room.

The pressed steel construction carries fire ratings of 30/60/90 minutes on solid timber joists, 30 minutes on web joists, and 30 minutes on i-joists. The fitting is IC-rated for direct contact with ceiling insulation and carries acoustic rating ISO 10140-2:2010, making it suitable for multi-occupancy installations where sound transmission between floors must be controlled. The selectable wattage allows output to be reduced from 7W to 5W where lower light levels or tighter energy budgets are needed.

The matt black finish provides a clean contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings and suits contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. The downlight is dimmable when paired with trailing-edge dimmers — compatibility should be checked before installation. The four colour temperatures cover warm residential lighting (2700K), hospitality and retail (3000K), office and task lighting (4000K), and clinical or high-contrast applications (6000K), all selectable from the same fitting.

Yes, the SpektroLED Evo is dimmable when paired with trailing-edge dimmers. Compatibility varies by dimmer model, so check with the dimmer manufacturer before installation to confirm it supports LED loads in the 5-7W range.

How do I change the colour temperature or wattage?

Switches on the rear of the fitting allow you to select between 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 6000K colour temperatures, and between 5W and 7W output. These are set during installation and are not accessible once the downlight is fitted into the ceiling.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 56mm void depth is needed above the ceiling. The cut-out diameter is 70mm and the visible bezel diameter once fitted is 90mm.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP65 rating from below makes it suitable for wet-use zones including directly above showers and baths. The IP rating from above is IP20, so it must be protected from direct water ingress in the ceiling void.
