Description
The SpektroLED Evo is a fire-rated LED downlight with selectable wattage (5W or 7W) and four selectable colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K) controlled by switches under the magnetic bezel. Each fitting houses an integrated SMD LED behind a prismatic diffuser and sits flush in a 70mm ceiling cut-out with a 90mm finished diameter. The pack contains 10 fittings, each supplied with a white bezel. Additional bezel colours are available separately, allowing finish changes without rewiring.
Designed for residential and commercial installation where fire rating, IP65 front protection and dimming capability are required, the SpektroLED Evo carries 30/60/90-minute fire ratings for solid timber joists, 30-minute ratings for web joists and i-joists, and IC rating for direct contact with loft insulation. The IP65 rating from below makes it suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms and kitchens, while the IP20 rating from above limits it to dry ceiling voids. The fitting connects directly to 230V mains using Knightsbridge's male-female connector system, which allows first-fix cabling to be terminated and hidden until decoration is complete, then plugged into the downlight at second fix.
The pressed steel housing requires a 43mm minimum void depth and sits 43mm into the ceiling void once installed. The 60-degree beam angle provides general ambient light rather than narrow spotlighting. Switching between 5W and 7W allows the installer to reduce maximum light output where lower illumination is needed or increase it where brighter task lighting is required. Output ranges from 580 lumens at 5W/2700K to 870 lumens at 7W/4000K. The fitting is dimmable with trailing-edge dimmers (compatibility should be confirmed before installation). The L70B10 rating of 50,000 hours indicates the LED will maintain 70% of its initial output for approximately 22 years at 6 hours daily use.
The magnetic bezel clips onto the downlight body after installation, allowing it to be removed for access to the wattage and CCT switches without disturbing the ceiling mounting or wiring. The Class II rating means no earth connection is required. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty and complies with post-2021 energy efficiency standards (Energy Rating Class C). Acoustic rating to ISO 10140-2:2010 limits sound transmission through the ceiling void.

Frequently Asked
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
Yes. The IP65 rating from below makes it suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (outside the shower enclosure but within 60cm of a bath or shower tray). The IP20 rating from above means the ceiling void must remain dry.
How is the colour temperature changed after installation?
The magnetic bezel clips off without tools, exposing two switches underneath. One switch selects wattage (5W or 7W), the other cycles through the four colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K). The bezel clips back on after adjustment.
What void depth is needed?
A minimum 43mm void depth is required. The fitting sits 43mm into the ceiling void and requires a 70mm diameter cut-out. Existing downlight apertures of 60-75mm can usually accommodate the SpektroLED Evo.
Can the bezel colour be changed?
Yes. Knightsbridge offers the SpektroLED Evo bezel in six finishes (sold separately). The magnetic bezel system allows the finish to be changed without rewiring or removing the downlight from the ceiling.
