Description
The Knightsbridge SpektroLED Evo is a 90mm fire-rated downlight with 90-degree tilt adjustment, selectable wattage (5W or 7W), and four selectable colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K). The fitting runs on 230V mains with no external driver, using loop-in loop-out connectors that allow first-fix cable termination before decoration and second-fix plug-in installation after. The antique brass bezel frames a prismatic diffuser over an SMD LED module rated to 50,000 hours L70B10.
Designed for residential bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and commercial installations where fire rating, IP65 front protection and adjustable light direction are required, the downlight fits a 70mm ceiling cut-out with 56mm recessed depth. The IP65 rating from below makes it suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, while the IP20 rating from above means it can be installed in contact with loft insulation (IC rated). Fire-rating covers 30/60/90-minute solid timber joists, 30-minute web joists and 30-minute I-joists (Staircraft), plus acoustic rating to ISO 10140-2:2010.
The tilt mechanism allows the beam to be angled up to 90 degrees from vertical, directing light onto walls, artwork, or work surfaces rather than straight down. The male-female connector system means the downlight can be unplugged for maintenance or redecorating without re-terminating cables. The antique brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional and warm contemporary interiors, contrasting with the prismatic white diffuser when lit. The fitting is dimmable on trailing-edge dimmers (compatibility should be checked before installation).
The selectable wattage switch on the fitting allows output to be set to 5W (565-605 lumens depending on CCT) or 7W (745-865 lumens), giving flexibility to match light levels to room size and ceiling height without changing the fitting. The four CCT options cover warm white (2700K), soft white (3000K), neutral white (4000K) and cool white (6000K), selected via switches on the fitting before installation.

Frequently Asked
What bathroom zones is this downlight suitable for?
The IP65 rating from below makes the SpektroLED Evo suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (directly above a bath or shower). The IP20 rating from above means it should not be installed where water can enter from the ceiling void.
How do I select the wattage and colour temperature?
The fitting has switches accessible before installation that allow you to choose between 5W and 7W output, and between 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 6000K colour temperatures. Once the fitting is installed in the ceiling, these settings cannot be changed without removing the downlight.
Can the downlight be installed in contact with loft insulation?
Yes. The fitting is IC rated (insulation contact), meaning it can be covered by loft insulation without overheating. The fire-rating also covers installation in solid timber joists, web joists and I-joists.
Is the antique brass bezel removable?
The bezel is fixed and cannot be changed. Other finishes in the SpektroLED Evo range include white, matt black, brushed chrome, polished chrome and brass — use the search function to find other variants in stock at Niori.
