Description

The SpektroLED Evo is a fire-rated tiltable LED downlight with selectable wattage (5W or 7W) and four selectable colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K), set on installation via switches on the driver. The brushed chrome bezel surrounds a prismatic diffuser that tilts smoothly through 90 degrees, allowing the beam to be directed towards a focal point or angled across a ceiling slope.

Designed for contractors and refurbishment projects where flexibility reduces stock complexity, the downlight uses a plug-in connector system that separates first-fix wiring from second-fix installation. The mains cable is terminated at first fix and left in the ceiling void; the downlight itself plugs in after decorating is complete. This same connector allows the fitting to be removed for maintenance or redecorating without re-wiring. The IP65 front rating makes the downlight suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, while the fire rating covers 30/60/90 minute solid timber installations and 30 minute web joist and i-joist constructions.

The fitting requires a 70mm cut-out and 56mm minimum void depth. The pressed steel construction and IC (insulation contact) rating mean the downlight can be installed in direct contact with loft insulation without overheating. The brushed chrome finish provides a neutral metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool bathroom palettes, and the 90mm diameter bezel sits flush with the ceiling surface. Output ranges from 565lm at 5W/2700K to 865lm at 7W/4000K, giving flexibility to match the light level to the room size and ceiling height. The IP65 front rating makes the SpektroLED Evo suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (directly above a bath or shower enclosure, and within 60cm of a bath or basin). The rear of the fitting is IP20, so ensure the ceiling void is dry and not exposed to water ingress.

How do I change the colour temperature and wattage?

Small switches on the LED driver inside the fitting allow you to select between 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 6000K, and between 5W and 7W output. These are set once during installation, not adjusted in use.

Can the fitting be installed in contact with loft insulation?
