Description

The Knightsbridge SpektroLED Evo is a fixed fire-rated LED downlight with selectable wattage (5W or 7W) and four selectable colour temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 6000K). The switches controlling both wattage and CCT are located beneath the magnetic bezel, allowing adjustment after installation without removing the fitting from the ceiling. The integrated SMD LED delivers between 580 and 870 lumens depending on the wattage and CCT combination selected.

Designed for bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and living rooms, the downlight carries an IP65 rating from below (IP20 from above), making it suitable for wet zones including Zone 1 in bathrooms. The 70mm cut-out fits standard UK ceiling joists with a 45mm minimum void depth. The fire rating covers 30/60/90-minute solid timber, 30-minute web joist and 30-minute i-joist installations, and the fitting is IC-rated for direct contact with thermal insulation. The male-female connector system allows cables to be terminated and hidden until decoration is complete, with the downlight plugged in only after painting.

The white housing shown is sold without a bezel — magnetic bezels are available separately in white, matt black, chrome, polished chrome, brass and antique brass finishes, allowing the same downlight to match different interior schemes. The pressed steel construction keeps the overall recessed depth to 43mm, making it one of the slimmest fire-rated downlights available for UK ceilings. The fitting is dimmable with trailing-edge dimmers and carries a 5-year warranty.

Can I change the colour temperature after installation?

Yes. The CCT selector switch is located beneath the magnetic bezel. Once the downlight is installed, you can remove the bezel magnetically, adjust the switch to select between 2700K, 3000K, 4000K or 6000K, and replace the bezel without disturbing the ceiling mounting or wiring.

Is this suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The downlight carries an IP65 rating from below, making it suitable for Zone 1 in bathrooms (directly above baths and showers). The IP rating from above is IP20, so the void space above the ceiling should remain dry.

What bezel finishes are available?

The fitting is sold without a bezel. Magnetic bezels are available separately in white, matt black, chrome, polished chrome, brass and antique brass. The bezel choice does not affect the light output or colour temperature.

Is it compatible with dimmer switches?

Yes, with trailing-edge dimmers. Check compatibility with your specific dimmer model before installation — leading-edge dimmers may cause flickering or poor dimming performance with LED drivers.
