Description

The Sparx 54W is a constant voltage dimmable LED driver delivering stable 24V DC output to compatible LED strip lighting, tape and linear fittings. The driver converts 230V mains to regulated low-voltage DC while supporting dimming control via compatible wall dimmers or control systems, maintaining flicker-free performance across the dimming range.

Designed for installation in ceiling voids, wall cavities and behind joinery where space is limited, the driver measures 280mm long with a 21mm profile, allowing it to fit into standard stud wall depths and ceiling plenum spaces. The IP20 rating suits dry interior locations only. The driver pairs with LED installations requiring up to 54W total load, making it suitable for under-cabinet lighting runs of 4-6m, cove lighting in residential rooms, or accent lighting behind headboards and architectural features.

The metal housing dissipates heat passively without requiring active cooling, keeping operating temperatures within safe limits when installed with adequate ventilation clearance. Push-fit spring terminals accept cable entry from both ends of the driver, simplifying installation where cable routes are constrained. The driver includes short-circuit, overload and over-temperature protection, shutting down automatically if fault conditions are detected and resuming operation once the fault clears.

The Sparx driver requires a trailing-edge (electronic) dimmer on the 230V mains input side. Not all dimmers are compatible with LED drivers — check dimmer specifications or contact us before pairing. The driver itself regulates the low-voltage output to the LED load during dimming.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating suits dry interior locations only. For bathrooms, outdoor installations or damp environments, an IP65 or IP67 rated driver is required.

The driver supports up to 54W total load at 24V DC. For example, if your LED strip draws 12W per metre, you can run approximately 4.5 metres of strip from one driver. Always check the wattage per metre rating of your LED product and calculate total run length accordingly.
