Description

The Spark is a 45cm flush ceiling light with an integrated 26W LED producing warm 3000K light through a white acrylic diffuser, housed in a circular black powder-coated aluminium frame. The fitting sits just 45mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or lower where a pendant would hang too close to head height.

Designed for bedrooms, hallway ceilings and kitchen ceilings, the Spark provides even ambient light across a 10-12m² floor area. We rate it IP40, so it is not for positions that can be splashed. The flush-mounted design conceals wiring within the ceiling void and presents a clean profile from below.

The powder-coated aluminium frame resists corrosion and fingerprints better than painted steel, and the matt black finish sits comfortably in both modern and industrial interiors. The 26W LED is non-dimmable and non-replaceable, with a typical 30,000-hour lifespan (approximately 10 years at 8 hours daily use). The fitting mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose and includes fixing screws and a terminal block for mains connection.

Frequently Asked

Is the Spark dimmable?

No. The integrated 26W LED is non-dimmable and should be connected to a standard on/off switch only. Attempting to use this fitting with a dimmer switch may cause flickering or damage to the LED driver.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry rooms only.

What size room does the 45cm version suit?

The 26W output and 45cm diameter provide even ambient light across a 10-12m² floor area, equivalent to a 3m x 4m bedroom or hallway. Larger rooms may benefit from two fittings spaced evenly.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

No. The LED is integrated and non-replaceable. The typical lifespan is 30,000 hours (approximately 10 years at 8 hours daily use), after which the entire fitting would need replacing. Ideal Lux provides a 5-year warranty covering LED failure within that period.
