Description

The Sorel is a 407mm outdoor wall lantern built around a rectangular clear glass panel set within an architectural bronze metal frame. A single 8W LED GU10 bulb (included) sits behind the glass, casting 3000K warm white light through horizontal ridged detailing within the glass itself, which breaks up the beam and creates subtle pattern on adjacent walls.

Designed for doorways, porches, garage entrances and pathway lighting on contemporary and modern homes, the Sorel mounts on a backplate fixed directly to external brickwork, render or cladding. The IP44 rating protects against rain splash from any direction and dust ingress, making it suitable for exposed positions under eaves or on open walls. The 143mm projection from the wall and 166mm width give the fitting enough presence to balance against standard residential door surrounds without dominating the facade.

The architectural bronze finish is a dark grey-brown tone with slight metallic sheen that resists corrosion and fading under UV exposure. The clear glass panel is clamped into the metal frame on all four edges, creating a weathertight seal while keeping the glass replaceable if damaged. Yes. The Sorel takes a standard GU10 LED bulb. The 8W 3000K bulb is included, but can be replaced with any GU10 bulb up to 8W if needed in future.

For doorway lighting, most installers position the centre of the fitting between 1.6m and 1.8m from ground level. For pathway or step lighting, a lower mounting height of 1.2m-1.4m often works better. Final position depends on the specific application and door surround height.
