Description

The Solvyn is a 280mm-tall alabaster table lamp built from a 150mm sphere of natural Spanish alabaster set on a domed marble base. A slim brass collar separates the two stone elements, and an integrated 5W 3000K LED is concealed inside the globe. Because the alabaster itself acts as the diffuser, the light source is hidden and the sphere glows uniformly from within rather than projecting a directional beam.

Designed as bedside, console and side-table lighting, the lamp suits bedrooms, hallway consoles, living-room side tables and dressing tables where a small footprint and warm ambient glow matter more than task brightness. The 150mm diameter sits comfortably on narrow consoles and bedside tables under 400mm wide, and the 5W output gives a soft pool of warm white light suited to evening and bedtime use rather than reading.

The alabaster sphere shows natural mineral veining and tonal variation that becomes more visible once the LED is switched on, with denser areas reading slightly darker against the translucent stone. The marble base adds visual weight beneath the lighter sphere and grounds the composition without overpowering it. Each piece of stone is cut individually, so veining patterns and warm cream tones differ between lamps.

Does the Solvyn need a separate bulb?

No. The 5W LED is integrated inside the alabaster globe and is not user-replaceable. The colour temperature is fixed at 3000K warm white and the lamp runs on standard 230V UK mains.

Is the Solvyn dimmable?

The integrated 5W LED runs on 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model, so please contact us before pairing it with a dimmer circuit to confirm.

Does the alabaster vary between lamps?

Yes. Both the alabaster sphere and the marble base are cut from natural stone, so veining, cream tones and translucency vary between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect.

How is the stone cleaned?

Alabaster and marble are porous and softer than granite. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
