Description

The Solvane is a 1000mm circular ring chandelier built from individually carved natural Spanish alabaster petals mounted around a brushed brass band. The petals are arranged in a continuous radial sequence around the ring, with each stone form sitting slightly proud of the next to create an undulating outer profile. An integrated 3000K LED housed within the brass channel washes warm light through the alabaster, turning the stone itself into the diffuser.

At 1000mm in diameter and 600mm in overall drop, the Solvane suits dining tables of 1.6m or longer, kitchen islands, large entrance halls and double-height stairwells. The fitting is suspended on four fine cables from a circular brass canopy, which keeps the visual weight focused on the alabaster ring rather than the suspension. The cable drop is adjustable on installation to set the ring 700-900mm above a dining surface, depending on ceiling height.

Each alabaster petal is cut from solid stone and gently honed rather than polished, leaving the natural veining, mineral density and tonal variation visible. Areas of milky white sit alongside warmer clouded sections, and no two petals share the same pattern. The slightly irregular outlines and overlapping edges of the stone forms throw soft internal shadows when lit, giving the ring depth and dimensionality from every angle. A small brass detail centred on each petal anchors it to the inner brass frame.

The Soft White and Brass finish pairs the pale luminous stone with a warm metallic band, working comfortably in both contemporary and transitional interiors. The brass tone is closer to a brushed satin than a high polish, softening reflections and pairing with neutral, warm and earth-toned palettes.
