Description
The Solis is a recessed LED spotlight built around a single integrated 30W LED module housed in a die-cast aluminium cylinder with a matt black powder-coated finish. The 150mm-diameter ceiling aperture mounts flush into plasterboard or panel ceilings, with the spotlight head capable of 360° rotation within the aperture and up to 90° tilt from the vertical, allowing directional accent light across a wide range of positions.
Designed for residential living rooms, commercial gallery spaces, hospitality interiors and retail environments, the Solis directs focused 3000K warm white light onto specific surfaces, artworks, architectural features or product displays. The tight beam angle creates defined pools of light rather than general ambient wash, making it effective for task lighting over kitchen worktops, accent lighting on wall-mounted art, or downlight onto cafe tables. The 30W output delivers sufficient brightness for spaces with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m.
The matt black finish on the visible trim ring and spotlight head reduces glare from the fitting itself and sits cleanly against both white and dark-painted ceilings. The die-cast aluminium construction provides heat dissipation for the LED module without requiring an external driver or additional cooling components. The integrated 3000K LED cannot be replaced but carries a five-year warranty from Ideal Lux, with the module rated for approximately 50,000 hours of continuous operation.

Frequently Asked
Can the Solis be dimmed?
No. The integrated LED module is not dimmable and should be connected to a standard non-dimmed mains circuit. Attempting to use it with a dimmer switch may cause the LED to flicker or fail.
What ceiling depth is required for installation?
The Solis requires a minimum ceiling void depth of approximately 120mm to accommodate the recessed body and LED module behind the ceiling surface. Installation into plasterboard or panel ceilings is straightforward; installation into solid ceilings requires coring a 150mm aperture.
How adjustable is the light direction?
The spotlight head rotates 360° within the ceiling aperture and tilts up to 90° from vertical, allowing light to be directed anywhere from straight down to almost horizontal across the ceiling plane. This makes it useful for accent lighting walls, features or specific zones.
What colour temperature is 3000K?
3000K is warm white, similar in tone to a traditional halogen bulb. It casts a slightly amber-tinted light that suits residential interiors, hospitality spaces and retail environments where a warmer atmosphere is preferred over the cooler 4000K-5000K daylight tones used in offices and workshops.
