Description

The Solenne is a compact alabaster orb pendant with a 130mm sphere of natural Spanish alabaster topped by a slim matt black metal cap and slender black suspension cable. A single G9 lamp sits inside the alabaster body, lighting the stone from within so the orb itself becomes the diffuser. The combination of solid copper internal construction and hand-cut alabaster gives the fitting a substantial feel despite its small footprint.

At 130mm diameter, the Solenne suits clustering above a kitchen island or dining table in groups of three or five at staggered drops, single-pendant use over a bedside table or hallway console, or as a low-level accent in a stairwell. The compact size also works in rooms with lower ceilings where a larger pendant would feel heavy. The black suspension cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop required, and the canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

Each alabaster orb is cut from a different section of stone, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. Some pieces show stronger amber or cream banding, others a more even soft-white tone. The matt black cap creates a sharp horizontal line against the curve of the sphere, and the same matt black finish carries through to the suspension fitting and ceiling canopy for a consistent monochrome detail against the pale stone.

The Solenne uses a single G9 capsule lamp. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white G9 LED between 2.5W and 4W at 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster and brings out the natural veining without over-cooling the stone tone.

Can the drop be adjusted?

Yes. The black suspension cable can be shortened on installation to set the required drop. The matt black ceiling canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable termination.

Will the alabaster look the same as the photos?

Each orb is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, banding and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. Some show stronger amber or cream markings while others are more uniform soft-white. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect.
