Description

The Solar is a 110mm surface-mount downlight in brown aluminium with a transparent Pyrex glass diffuser and an IP44 water and dust ingress rating. The cylindrical body fixes directly to the ceiling surface without recessing, housing a single GU10 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) behind the tempered glass lens.

Designed for outdoor covered areas, bathrooms, and utility spaces, the IP44 rating protects the fitting from water splashes and allows installation in Zone 2 bathrooms (600mm+ from a shower head or bath edge) and under covered porches, carports, and verandas. The brown aluminium finish provides a warm, earthy tone that pairs with timber cladding, natural stone, and brick exteriors. The 110mm diameter is compact enough for narrow soffits and low ceilings without overwhelming a typical domestic porch or bathroom alcove.

The Pyrex glass diffuser is harder and more heat-resistant than standard soda-lime glass, allowing the fitting to be paired with higher-output GU10 halogen bulbs (up to 50W) without risk of thermal stress. The brown powder-coat finish on the aluminium body resists UV fading and corrosion from rain and coastal salt spray, providing longevity in exposed outdoor installations. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 dimmable LED bulb and a trailing-edge dimmer switch.
