Description

The Solana is a 3-light crystal wall light built around a polished chrome rectangular backplate measuring 200mm wide by 280mm high, with a 140mm projection from the wall. Three G4 capsule bulbs sit inside the chrome frame, each surrounded by faceted clear crystals suspended within oval loops of chrome and glass. Black and clear crystal droplets hang from the lower edge of each loop, catching and refracting light from the bulbs above.

Designed for hallways, living room alcoves and dining room feature walls where ceiling height is 2.4m or above, the Solana provides decorative rather than task lighting. The three G4 bulbs (sold separately) each accept up to 20W halogen capsules, giving a combined 60W output suitable for accent lighting or pairing with other room sources. The fitting requires a standard wall box with mains supply and is not compatible with dimmers or LED/CFL bulbs — halogen G4 capsules are required.

The polished chrome finish gives a mirror-like surface that amplifies light from the bulbs and reflects surrounding room colours. The crystal droplets are precision-cut to maximise refraction, so each piece throws small coloured highlights onto adjacent walls when lit. The combination of clear and smoked black crystals adds depth to the visual texture without darkening the light output. At 0.5kg the fitting mounts securely to a solid wall with the supplied fixings.

What bulbs does the Solana take?

The fitting takes three G4 halogen capsule bulbs, each up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. The fitting is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs — only halogen capsules will function correctly with the internal transformer.

Is it dimmable?

No. The Solana is not compatible with dimmer switches. Connecting it to a dimmed circuit may damage the internal components or cause the bulbs to flicker.

What wall surface is needed for installation?

The 0.5kg fitting mounts to a solid wall using the supplied fixings. For plasterboard or cavity walls, use appropriate wall plugs rated to support at least 1kg to ensure secure mounting.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Wipe the chrome frame and crystals with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks on the crystals, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or allowing water into the bulb sockets.
