Description

The Solace is a 42mm square surface-mounted LED downlight with a matt black powder-coated aluminium body and an integrated 4W 3000K LED behind a satin acrylic diffuser. The compact cube housing mounts directly to the ceiling surface without requiring a recessed cut-out, making it suitable for ceilings with shallow voids or where surface mounting is preferred.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, bathrooms (IP20-rated for indoor dry areas only) and living spaces needing concentrated accent or task lighting, the Solace provides directional downlight from a minimal footprint. The 42mm square face sits flush with the ceiling line, creating a defined geometric accent that works in clusters for general lighting coverage or individually to highlight specific surfaces. The matt black finish pairs with dark-toned ceilings to near-invisibility or provides contrast against white and lighter surfaces.

The satin acrylic diffuser spreads the 4W LED output across the square aperture, reducing hot-spotting and softening the light edge. The 3000K colour temperature delivers warm white light comparable to halogen without the heat output or short bulb life. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer (dimmer sold separately), allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness down to low ambient levels for evening use.

The powder-coated aluminium construction dissipates heat from the LED efficiently, contributing to the five-year warranty coverage from Ideal Lux. Surface mounting means installation requires only a ceiling rose connection point and two fixing screws — no plastering or ceiling cut work is needed.
