Description

This smart LED globe bulb pairs amber glass with a spiral filament that coils up through the centre of a round globe, finished with a brass-coloured screw base. It has an E27 cap, the larger of the common screw fittings, and draws 7W to give 806lm of light. The colour temperature is adjustable, so the same bulb can give a warmer light for a quiet evening and a cooler light when you need to see clearly. Amber glass tints the light as it passes, which gives a honeyed glow rather than a crisp one, even at full brightness.

We think it looks its best where the bulb itself is on show: a bare pendant over a dining table, a cord hung above a sideboard, an open cage shade or a simple holder on a desk lamp. The spiral filament gives the eye a point of interest, even when the light is turned down low. It suits anyone building a smart home who still wants a warm, vintage look, and anyone who likes to change the mood of a room through the evening without getting up from the sofa.

It is dimmable and controlled by an app, so you can set both the brightness and the colour temperature from your phone. It is made for a smart home, and it also works with a remote control, which is sold separately rather than in the box. The Energy Class is E, worth knowing if you compare bulbs by efficiency. Before you order, check that your lamp holder takes an E27 cap and that your shade leaves the amber globe and its spiral filament in view, because this is a bulb that rewards being seen.

Frequently Asked

Which cap does this globe bulb have?

It has an E27 cap, the larger of the common screw fittings, so check that your lamp holder takes E27 before you order.

Can the colour temperature be changed?

Yes. The colour temperature is adjustable through the app, so you can move between a warmer light and a cooler light to suit the room and the hour.

Is the bulb dimmable?

Yes, it is dimmable, and you set the brightness through the app, from its full 806lm to a gentle glow whenever you want a softer room.

Does a remote control come with it?

No. The bulb works with a remote control, but the remote is sold separately rather than included, and the app gives you control without one.

How bright is the bulb?

It gives 806lm of light from 7W of power, and the amber glass warms the tone of that light as it leaves the globe.

What colour is the glass?

The glass is amber, which gives the light a honeyed tint, and it sits on a brass-coloured screw base with a spiral LED filament at its centre.
