Description
This sitting squirrel figurine shows a woodland favourite perched up on its haunches, clutching a dark pine cone close to its chest. It is made from resin, often called polystone, which holds fine surface detail well, and the fur is sculpted in soft, flowing strokes across the back, the head and the great curling tail. The coat is a warm russet brown, with a white chest and muzzle, a blush of pink inside the ears and glossy dark eyes that give the face a bright, alert look. From behind, the tail sweeps up in a full curve before flicking forward at the tip, and its underside is a pale grey-white.
We like it best somewhere it can be seen from more than one side: a bookshelf, a windowsill, a mantelpiece or a sideboard, or tucked among houseplants where it looks as though it has just paused for a snack. It sits happily beside other wildlife pieces in a country-style kitchen or a cottage living room, and it brings a touch of the woods to a desk or a hallway table in every season. It also makes an easy gift, with no batteries, fixings or assembly to think about, just a squirrel ready to settle in wherever it is put.
The figurine stands freely on its feet and the base of its tail, so it needs no wall, hook or stand, only a flat, level surface. Care is simple: dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry. It is a decorative ornament rather than a toy, so a high shelf suits it best in a home with young children. For a seasonal display through autumn and winter, set it beside a few pine cones, some dried leaves and a sprig of greenery, and it will look as though it has wandered in from the garden.

Frequently Asked
What is the squirrel figurine made from?
It is made from resin, also known as polystone, which holds the fine sculpted texture of the fur, face and tail very well.
What colour is the squirrel?
The coat is a warm russet brown, with a white chest and muzzle, pink inside the ears and a pale grey-white underside to the tail.
What is the squirrel holding?
It grips a dark pine cone in its front paws, held close to its chest as if it has just stopped to eat.
Does it need hanging or fixing in place?
No, it stands freely on its feet and the base of its tail, so any flat, level surface such as a shelf or windowsill will do.
How should I look after it?
Dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry before putting it back.
Can it go outside in the garden?
We offer it as an indoor ornament, and it carries no weatherproof claim, so we suggest keeping it on a shelf, mantelpiece or windowsill indoors.
