Single Blanking Plate - Warm Grey

This is a blank cover for a single gang position, finished in warm grey with a screwless front so nothing breaks up the face. The format is the standard 88mm square, moulded in polycarbonate with a low-sheen surface that shows fingerprints far less readily than gloss white. The face itself is flat and unbroken, with a slim edge profile that keeps the plate sitting close and quiet on the wall rather than standing proud of it.

We keep these for the tidying-up jobs that arrive at the end of a rewire or a redecoration: a point that is no longer wanted, an old aerial socket left behind when the television moved, a position kept in reserve for later. It is one we reach for where a bright white cover would jump out against a warm painted wall or a papered chimney breast. It is rated IP20 and intended for indoor use only, so keep it to dry rooms.

How should marks be cleaned off?

A soft cloth barely damp with warm water, then dried. Avoid solvents, polishes and abrasive creams, which will take the sheen off the surface.
