Single Blanking Plate - Pink

A blank plate does one quiet job: it closes off a point that is no longer in service and leaves the wall looking finished rather than unfinished. This is a single gang square in pink, with a screwless face, so nothing interrupts the colour across the front. At 88mm square it lines up with the switches and sockets already on the wall, which means it reads as part of the same run instead of a patch left behind.

We keep these on the shelf for the jobs that come up when a room is redecorated and something is no longer wanted: a redundant television point, a disused flex outlet, an aerial socket from an older layout. Pink is a deliberate choice rather than a neutral one, and it suits rooms that already carry colour, such as a child's bedroom, a utility with painted cupboards, a studio or a small home office. It is for dry rooms inside the house, so keep it out of bathroom zones and anywhere it might be splashed.

The plate is moulded in polycarbonate, a tough plastic that takes a smooth, even pink through the body rather than sitting as a coat on the surface, so knocks and scuffs are far less likely to show. It is light in the hand and holds its shape well. To clean it, a cloth wrung out in warm water with a little washing up liquid is plenty; skip cream cleaners, wipes with solvent in them and anything gritty, as these dull the surface over time. It carries a ten year warranty. If you want the colour to look intentional, run it alongside plates in the same shade so the wall reads as one thought, or leave it as the single bold note in a room of plain white.

What size is the plate?

It is a single gang square, 88mm by 88mm on the face, matching the footprint of standard single switch and socket plates.

What does screwless mean here?

The visible front carries no screw heads, so the pink face is uninterrupted. It is a cleaner look than a plate with two exposed screws across the middle.

What is it made from?

Moulded polycarbonate in a pink finish. It weighs 0.07kg, so it is very light.

Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is rated IP20 and intended for indoor use only, so keep it away from splash zones and any outdoor position.

How should I clean it?

Wipe with a soft cloth dampened in warm soapy water and dry it off. Avoid solvents, cream cleaners and abrasive pads, which can mark polycarbonate.

Is there a warranty?

It carries a ten year warranty.
