Description
The Simon is a single-light adjustable wall light with a matt black conical shade on an articulated arm, punctuated by brass-finished joints and a brass cylindrical stem. The arm extends up to 623mm from the wall and pivots at two brass joints, allowing the shade to be angled towards a reading position, a desk surface, or redirected up towards the ceiling for indirect wash light. An E27 bulb fitting inside the shade (bulb sold separately) accepts any standard LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W.
Designed as task lighting for bedside reading, home office desks, and study areas, the Simon mounts on a rectangular matt black backplate measuring 136mm wide by 439mm tall. The extended projection means the light can be positioned well clear of a headboard or desk edge, reducing glare and providing more directional control than a fixed wall sconce. The on-off switch sits on the backplate within easy reach from a seated or lying position.
The matt black powder-coated finish on the shade and frame minimises reflections and pairs cleanly with contemporary, industrial and mid-century interiors, while the satin brass accents at the joints and stem provide warm metallic contrast without the high reflectivity of polished brass. The shade measures approximately 180mm tall and 130mm at the opening, directing light downwards and forwards when angled for reading or task work. Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Simon takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading or desk tasks.
Can the arm be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The arm pivots at two brass-finished joints, allowing the shade to be angled towards a reading position, desk surface, or redirected upwards for indirect light. The joints hold position once set but can be re-adjusted at any time.
What's the maximum reach from the wall?
The arm extends up to 623mm from the wall when fully extended. This allows the light to clear headboards, desk edges and chair backs, providing good task lighting without crowding the wall mounting point.
Is there an in-line switch?
The on-off switch is located on the wall backplate, within easy reach from a seated or lying position. There is no in-line switch on the cable.
