Description

Sierra is a shaggy rug in Jewel Green, a rich, plain green with no pattern to compete with the rest of the room. Its appeal is all in the texture: a soft, shaggy, textured pile that gives the single colour a gentle variation in tone as the light catches it. It is machine made from polypropylene, a synthetic fibre, and comes as a rectangle.

We see it first and foremost as a living room rug. A plain green sits happily with wooden floors, grey or neutral upholstery and white walls, and it brings colour into a room without crowding it. The sizes run from 80 by 150cm, which suits a spot beside an armchair or in front of a fireplace, through 120 by 170cm and 160 by 220cm for the space in front of a sofa, up to 200 by 290cm, large enough to sit beneath a sofa and coffee table together.

The pile is the reason to choose it. If you want something soft to sit on, stretch out on or stand on in bare feet, the shaggy, textured surface settles that. If you prefer a plain rug but worry it might look flat, the texture gives the green depth. Before you order, measure the floor with the furniture in place and mark out your preferred size with tape; a rug that lets the front legs of the sofa rest on it tends to pull a seating area together.
