Description

Our Sicciarotta is a slim white LED flush ceiling light in the batten style. It is 60cm long, 7.5cm wide and just 2cm high, so it sits close to the surface rather than hanging down into the room. Both the body and the opal diffuser are plastic, and the LEDs are integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It runs at 18W and gives 1,800 lumens of 4000K light, a neutral white between warm and cool that suits tasks well. Its IP20 rating settles where it can go: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Its flat, narrow shape fits places where a pendant or a larger fitting would get in the way. We like it on a kitchen ceiling or fixed beneath a run of wall cabinets, lighting the worktop for chopping and reading recipes, kept clear of the sink. It is just as handy on the ceiling or wall of a dry workshop or garage, a hallway, a landing or a walk-in wardrobe. It suits anywhere you want clear, practical light from a fitting that does not draw the eye. Because it is so shallow, it also suits rooms with low ceilings and keeps headroom free. Being IP20, it stays out of bathrooms and never goes outdoors.

The white plastic body is finished with neat, rounded end caps, so it sits quietly against white ceilings and cabinetry. It is a wired mains light, so a qualified electrician installs it, and the installation instructions come as a download. There is no switch on the light itself and it is not dimmable, so it works from an ordinary wall switch and a dimmer does not suit it. It carries energy class E and weighs 0.346KG packed, light enough to hold steady while it is fixed in place.
