Description
The Sicciarotta is a slim LED batten in white, 120cm long, 7.5cm wide and just 2cm high, so it sits flush and keeps a low profile overhead. The body and the opal diffuser are both white plastic, finished with neat end caps. The LEDs are integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and at 36W it gives 3,600lm of light at 4000K, a crisp neutral white. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.
This is a light for the rooms where you need to see what you are doing. Fixed flat across a kitchen or workshop ceiling, it spreads light along its full 120cm through the long opal diffuser, rather than from a single point. It works just as well on a wall or tucked under a run of kitchen wall cupboards, where it lights the worktop directly; keep it well away from the sink and the splashes. Above a workbench or a wall of tools, the steady, even line of light suits close jobs such as sorting screws or reading a tape measure.
It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so you turn it on and off from the wall switch. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. It runs on 220-240V, carries energy class E and weighs 0.592KG packed. Plastic does not rust, which suits a busy kitchen or a workshop. Before you order, measure the ceiling or cupboard run you have in mind, since it needs a clear 120cm stretch.
