Description

The Share is a 102mm plaster-in recessed downlight with a white outer trim ring, black internal baffle, and a 25° swivel mechanism that allows the light to be angled after installation. The fitting takes a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) rated up to 10W and sits flush with the ceiling once plastered in, leaving only the white trim ring visible on the finished surface.

Designed for new-build residential and commercial projects where recessed lighting needs directional flexibility, the Share allows spotlighting of wall art, worktops, seating areas or architectural features without the fixed beam angle of a non-adjustable downlight. The black internal baffle absorbs stray light and sharpens the beam edge, reducing the halo effect common in white-on-white downlights and giving better definition to the lit area. The 37mm recess depth requires a minimum ceiling void of 50mm including insulation clearance.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight low at approximately 180g per fitting, which reduces strain on plasterboard ceilings when installing multiple units in a grid layout. The white powder-coated finish on the outer trim blends into white or off-white ceiling surfaces, while the black baffle creates visual depth when viewed from below. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry internal areas only — not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does it take?

The Share takes a single GU10 bulb rated up to 10W (sold separately). Most users install a warm-white LED GU10 between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for general ambient lighting, or a higher-output 10W bulb for task lighting or accent work.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The fitting itself is 37mm tall. A minimum ceiling void of 50mm is recommended to allow clearance for the GU10 bulb, the plaster overlap onto the trim ring, and any insulation pushed back from the fitting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry internal areas. For bathrooms, look for downlights rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.

How is the swivel mechanism adjusted?

Once installed and the plaster has cured, the internal housing can be tilted by hand up to 25° from vertical in any direction. The mechanism holds position under its own friction without needing to be locked.
