Description

The Share is a 102mm plaster-in recessed downlight with a 25° swivel mechanism, designed to sit flush with plasterboard ceilings once the surround is plastered and painted. The white aluminium trim ring contains a GU10 bulb holder (bulb sold separately) and the entire fitting recesses into the ceiling void, leaving only the trim visible at ceiling level.

Designed for new-build residential projects, ceiling renovations, and commercial fit-outs where a clean uninterrupted ceiling plane is required, the plaster-in installation method means the downlight becomes part of the ceiling surface rather than an appliance fitted to it. The 25° tilt allows the beam to be angled towards walls, artwork, worktops or furniture rather than pointing straight down, making it suitable for accent lighting as well as general downlighting. The 102mm diameter fits standard downlight apertures and the 37mm height requires a minimum 50mm ceiling void depth.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight while providing adequate heat dissipation for GU10 halogen or LED bulbs up to 10W. The white finish on the trim ring is a factory powder coat applied before installation — once the plaster surround is painted to match the ceiling, only a thin white ring remains visible around the aperture. The IP20 rating limits the Share to dry indoor environments; it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits.

Frequently Asked

What is plaster-in installation?

Plaster-in means the downlight sits within the plasterboard ceiling void and the surrounding ceiling plaster is applied up to the edge of the trim ring. Once painted, the downlight appears integrated into the ceiling surface rather than mounted onto it. This gives a cleaner finish than surface-mounted or conventional recessed downlights.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The fitting requires a minimum 50mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the 37mm height of the downlight body plus clearance for wiring and the GU10 bulb.

What bulb does it take?

The Share takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately). Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for general downlighting, or a narrower beam angle for accent lighting.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Share is not protected against moisture ingress and is only suitable for dry indoor environments. For bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits, choose a downlight with a minimum IP44 or IP65 rating.
