Description

The Shannon is a 250mm diameter outdoor chain pendant built from black corrosion-proof polymer with a clear polycarbonate diffuser and a single E27 bulb fitting. The fitting carries an IP44 rating, protecting against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, verandas, and exterior entryways where direct rain exposure is limited.

Designed for coastal and high-humidity environments, the polymer construction resists salt corrosion and UV degradation better than painted metals, which typically pit or discolour within a few seasons of marine exposure. The 310mm chain allows the pendant to be set between 530mm and 730mm total drop on installation, giving flexibility to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m to 3m. The black canopy conceals the cable run and fits standard UK exterior ceiling roses.

The lantern-style shade houses a 250mm clear polycarbonate globe that diffuses light evenly downward and sideways, providing functional illumination for doorways and walkways without harsh shadows. The fitting accepts any E27 LED, CFL or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing you to choose the light temperature and brightness that suits the application. Elstead backs the Shannon with a 20-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and material failure.
