Description

The Seville is a ceramic pendant light with a wide drum shade, 15.5cm tall and 28cm across, and a low dome rising from the centre of its top. The shade is finished in the Blue Earth glaze: a mottled blue with fine dark crackle lines running across its surface, deepening to a richer blue inside the rim. It takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, and bulbs are sold separately, so you can choose the bulb that suits your room. The brass metalwork comes in Satin Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black or Polished Brass, each one setting off the blue glaze in its own way.

We see it over a dining table, where the open drum sends light down onto the table and the glaze catches the eye from across the room. It also works in a living room, hung over a low table or a favourite chair. At 28cm across it holds its own as a single pendant above a small round table, and a pair or a row works well along a longer one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician.

Every Seville is made to order for you in Ireland, the glazed ceramic shade paired with brass fittings. If you choose Matt Black, the metalwork is painted in RAL 9005, a useful reference when you are matching it to other black fittings or hardware in the room. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. As each light is made to order, settle on your finish before you buy, and plan for an electrician's visit to wire it in. Our photographs show the Satin Brass finish.
