Description

The Knightsbridge Seren is a 192mm recessed LED downlight with three switchable power outputs (15W, 20W, 25W) and three selectable colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5000K cool white). Both wattage and CCT are adjusted via switches on the rear of the fitting before installation, allowing a single stock item to serve multiple applications without ordering separate variants.

Designed for commercial offices, retail spaces, hospitality and educational installations where lighting needs vary by zone or may change over time, the Seren eliminates the need to specify exact wattage and colour temperature during procurement. A reception area can be set to 15W 3000K for a warmer tone, while a back-office or stockroom area can be set to 25W 5000K for maximum brightness and clarity. The 110-degree beam angle provides even coverage across desks, aisles and open-plan areas.

The fitting is built around a die-cast aluminium heat sink with a white powder-coated finish and an opal polycarbonate diffuser that softens the LED output and reduces glare. The 170mm cut-out requires a minimum 100mm void depth for the heat sink and terminal block to recess fully. Spring clips secure the downlight into plasterboard or suspended tile ceilings, and plug-and-play connectors simplify wiring on multi-unit installations. The IP40 rating (IP20 from above) allows installation in dry internal environments, and the fitting carries Class II double-insulated construction requiring no earth connection.

The Seren achieves up to 168 lumens per watt depending on the selected wattage and CCT combination, with a rated L70B50 lifespan of 50,000 hours. An optional emergency conversion kit (EMKIT2) is compatible for premises requiring maintained or non-maintained emergency lighting. The fitting carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty and is backed by Knightsbridge's commercial lighting service network.

How do I change the wattage and colour temperature?

The wattage and CCT are adjusted via DIP switches on the rear of the fitting before installation. Once the downlight is installed and powered, the settings cannot be changed without removing the fitting from the ceiling. Consult the product manual (linked above) for the exact switch positions for each combination.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 100mm void depth is required to accommodate the heat sink and terminal block. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 69.5mm, but the void needs the additional clearance for heat dissipation and safe electrical connection.

Is the Seren dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider a different Knightsbridge model with a DALI or phase-cut dimmable driver.

Can it be used with an emergency conversion kit?

Yes. The Seren is compatible with Knightsbridge's EMKIT2 emergency conversion kit, which provides maintained or non-maintained emergency lighting for commercial premises. The emergency kit is sold separately.
