Description

The Sedgehurst semi flush sets a 400mm shade of Tiffany-style leaded glass 315mm below the ceiling, making it a compact ceiling light with a good deal of colour packed into it. Three E27 lampholders sit inside, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, so the small shade is lit evenly from within. It weighs 3kg, which is solid for its size and reflects how densely the glass is worked. Bulbs are not included, leaving the choice of warmth to you.

A 400mm width suits bedrooms, landings, hallways, studies and smaller sitting rooms, particularly where the ceiling sits below about two and a half metres. Semi flush mount fittings solve the head height problem that rules out a pendant in cottages, dormer rooms and loft conversions, and this one does it without giving up any character. The multicoloured glass looks right against period features and gives a plainer room something to hold the eye. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry indoor spaces.

Dust with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from the seams. The fitting is Class 1 and needs an earthed supply, and it dims with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs.
