Description
The Sedgehurst inverted pendant is the widest of our upward facing Tiffany-style shades at 570mm across, and at 5.6kg it has the presence to match. The bowl is hung open side up so light reaches the ceiling before it comes back into the room, and the drop adjusts between 600mm and 1000mm. Three E27 lampholders sit inside, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W. Bulbs are not included, so the warmth and brightness of the room stay in your hands.
A shade this wide wants a room that can take it: a long dining table, a double aspect sitting room, or a stairwell with height to fill. The reward is very even light with nothing pointed at seated eye level, which is what makes inverted pendants worth having in rooms used after dark. The multicoloured leaded glass reads as warm and traditional in a period house, and in a pared back modern room it becomes the single piece of colour that holds everything together. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use.
Coloured glass pieces are set into soldered metal seams and carried on a metal frame, which is where the weight comes from and why the panels shift in tone as the light behind them changes. Dust with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from the leaded lines. It is Class 1 and needs an earthed supply, and it dims with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs. A Sedgehurst semi flush and a Sedgehurst floor lamp sit within the same range.

Frequently Asked
What is the shade made of?
Coloured glass set into soldered metal seams on a metal frame, in the Tiffany-style leaded tradition.
How do I clean it?
Dust with a dry soft cloth. Wipe marks with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, avoiding sprays and abrasive creams.
Is it too big for a normal room?
At 570mm across it needs space. For tighter rooms the Sedgehurst semi flush is the more compact option.
What bulbs does it take?
Three E27 screw-cap bulbs, up to 10W each in LED, bought separately.
Does the weight affect installation?
It weighs 5.6kg, so the ceiling fixing needs to be sound and rated for that load.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, with a dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs that are compatible.
