The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 148mm x 148mm screwless cover plate in black nickel, designed to house eight modular grid components in a 2x4 configuration. The faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame (GDS003F, sold separately) without visible fixings on the wall, giving a clean finish across residential, commercial and hospitality installations.

This faceplate is designed exclusively for use with the Knightsbridge screwless grid system, where individual switches, sockets, dimmers and data modules are mounted into a metal grid frame behind the cover plate. The system allows installers to configure exactly which controls appear in each aperture rather than being limited to fixed switch/socket combinations. Common applications include home theatres where AV controls, lighting dimmers and power sockets need to be grouped in a single wall plate, boardrooms, hotel suites, and bespoke kitchen installations.

The black nickel finish provides a dark gunmetal tone with a slight sheen, sitting darker than brushed steel or chrome but warmer than matt black. The premium-grade steel construction resists warping and holds its finish under handling. At 3.5mm projection from the wall (plus the depth of the grid frame behind), the faceplate sits nearly flush with the plaster line. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor locations — this is not a bathroom or outdoor-rated product.

This faceplate requires one GDS003F 8-gang grid frame (sold separately) to hold the modular grid components behind it. You then populate the frame with individual grid switches, sockets, dimmers or data modules to suit your configuration. The faceplate clips onto the frame once the grid modules are installed.

Can this be used with standard switches and sockets?

No. This faceplate is designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge screwless grid system, where individual modular components slot into a metal grid frame. It cannot be used with standard fixed-format switches or sockets.
