Description

The Saxon is an 8-light cartwheel chandelier built around a 900mm diameter wrought iron ring with eight candle-style E14 holders spaced evenly around the perimeter. Hammered metal panels sit between each holder, giving the frame a forged, hand-beaten appearance. The chandelier is suspended on three heavy-link chains that converge at a central ceiling canopy, with a 2400mm chain length adjustable on installation to achieve drops between 660mm and 2550mm.

Designed for high-ceiling dining rooms, entrance halls, and double-height living spaces, the Saxon works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above where the full cartwheel silhouette can be appreciated from multiple angles. The eight E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit exposed in upward-facing holders, so decorative filament candle bulbs or LED flame-effect bulbs give the most characterful result. The 60W maximum per holder accommodates both traditional and LED bulb types.

The matt black finish on the wrought iron frame is slightly textured rather than glossy, which softens reflections under candlelight and pairs comfortably with exposed beams, stone walls, and darker wood furniture. The hammered panels between each holder add visual weight and break up the circular outline when viewed from below. At 900mm wide and approximately 6kg in weight, the Saxon occupies meaningful space above a dining table or in a hallway without overwhelming rooms under 20m².

The chandelier uses eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs, maximum 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Decorative candle-shaped filament bulbs or LED flame-effect bulbs work well with the exposed upward-facing holders.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2400mm chain allows drops between 660mm and 2550mm, adjusted during installation. For the chandelier to sit comfortably above a dining table (typically 700-900mm clearance) or in an entrance hall without headroom issues, ceiling heights of 3m or above are recommended.

Can the drop be shortened after installation?

The chain length is set during initial fitting. Shortening or lengthening the drop after installation requires the chandelier to be lowered from the ceiling, the chain adjusted, and the fitting re-hung. It is not adjustable once the ceiling canopy is fixed.

Is the black finish textured?

Yes. The matt black finish has a slightly textured surface rather than a smooth gloss, which reduces reflections and gives the wrought iron a forged rather than powder-coated appearance.
