Description

The Sally is an 85mm recessed LED downlight with an 11W COB chip delivering 3000K warm white light through a white outer trim and black inner baffle. The die-cast aluminium housing sits flush with plasterboard or panel ceilings, with the black interior baffle reducing glare and adding visual depth to the aperture.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the Sally suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and office spaces where recessed lighting is needed without the heat output and energy draw of halogen equivalents. The 85mm diameter fits standard UK recessed downlight cut-outs, and the spring-clip retention system allows the fitting to be installed into plasterboard ceilings without additional framing support in most cases.

The white and black dual-tone finish pairs comfortably with both contemporary and industrial interiors. The black baffle absorbs internal reflections, directing more of the 11W output downward rather than scattering it across the ceiling void. The IP40 rating protects against dust ingress but limits use to indoor dry locations — this is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor soffits or other moisture-prone environments.

Frequently Asked

Is the Sally dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider alternative downlight models with dimmable drivers.

What cut-out size is needed?

The Sally requires an 85mm diameter cut-out in the ceiling. The outer trim diameter is slightly larger to cover the cut edge. Check the full specification for exact cut-out and trim dimensions before installation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP40 rating protects against dust but not moisture. In a bathroom, zones 1 and 2 need IPX4 (IPX5 where water jets are used). The Sally is suitable for dry indoor locations only.

What's the light output?

The 11W COB LED provides warm white 3000K light. Exact lumen output is not listed in the specification provided, but typical 11W COB downlights deliver 700-900 lumens depending on driver efficiency.
