The Sal Large is a 535mm desk lamp built around a slender matt black stem and a pivoting satin gold cylindrical head that houses a single GU10 bulb fitting. The head rotates on a lateral arm, allowing the light to be directed downward onto a desk surface, angled toward a reading position, or aimed at a wall as accent lighting.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and console surfaces where directed task lighting is needed, the Sal's 180mm base diameter provides stability without occupying significant surface area. The lamp suits home offices, reading corners next to armchairs, and bedside positions where the pivoting head allows light to be redirected for different tasks. The matt black and satin gold finish pairing works across mid-century, industrial and contemporary interiors.

The satin gold finish on the cylindrical head provides a brushed metallic accent that softens reflections compared to polished brass while retaining warmth under daylight. The matt black stem and base absorb light rather than reflecting it, keeping visual focus on the gold head. At 1.85kg the lamp has sufficient weight to remain stable when the head is repositioned without needing to be clamped or fixed.

This version is dimmable when paired with a compatible bulb and a suitable dimmer, allowing the output to be lowered for evening reading or raised for detailed tasks. The Sal uses a single GU10 bulb, sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a 4-6W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for desk or bedside use. The lamp accepts any GU10.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable GU10 bulb and connect the lamp to a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

How far does the head pivot?

The cylindrical head rotates on the lateral arm, allowing it to be angled downward for desk lighting, tilted toward a reading position, or aimed upward and sideways for wall washing. The rotation range covers approximately 180 degrees.
