Description
The Rothbury is a single light flush ceiling light in antique brass, a round glass shade held close beneath a brass mount that sits tight against the ceiling. It measures 31cm across and projects 21.5cm from the ceiling, a compact size that suits a smaller room comfortably without overwhelming it. It takes one E27 lamp, rated up to 10W, and the brass and glass build gives it a neat, traditional look without being fussy, with just enough detail in the mount to keep it from feeling plain.
Sitting flush to the ceiling, the Rothbury is well suited to rooms with lower ceilings or anywhere a pendant would hang too far down, landings, box rooms, smaller bedrooms and hallways all work well. With one lamp doing the work, it gives a single, centred glow rather than a wide spread, which makes it a good match for a compact room or a secondary light used alongside other fittings in a larger one. It's a straightforward way to bring a touch of brass warmth into a room without taking up any ceiling height.
Finished in antique brass, it has an aged warmth rather than a bright shine, so it sits easily with wood, cream and other traditional finishes around it. Wipe it over with a dry, soft cloth now and then, and keep abrasive cleaners away from the brass and glass to avoid marking either surface. It's dimmable with a dimmable E27 lamp and a compatible dimmer, so the room can move from bright and functional to soft and low, and it forms part of our wider Rothbury range if you want the same antique brass finish carried into other rooms of the home.

Frequently Asked
What room size does the Rothbury suit?
At 31cm across, it's designed for a smaller room, a landing, box room, hallway or modest bedroom, rather than a large open living space.
What bulb does it take, and is one included?
It takes a single E27 lamp, up to 10W, which is not included. A warm white LED lamp in E27 is a good, low-energy option.
Is the Rothbury dimmable?
Yes, with a dimmable E27 lamp fitted and a compatible dimmer switch installed, you can take it from full brightness down to a softer glow.
How close to the ceiling does the Rothbury sit?
It projects just 21.5cm, so it stays close to the ceiling and suits rooms where a hanging pendant wouldn't be practical.
How do I keep the antique brass finish looking good?
Dust it with a dry, soft cloth and avoid abrasive cleaning products, which can wear away the aged brass finish over time.
