Description

The Roccanova-L is a solar LED floor lamp in white, with a drum-shaped head, a slim steel stem and a round disc base. It stands 120cm tall, the head is 13.5cm across and the base is 20cm across, so it needs very little floor space beside a seat. The solar panel sits in the top of the head and the LED is integrated, giving 270 lumens from 2.8W at a warm 3000K. It is rated IP44, protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors in the garden or on a patio.

Because it runs on solar power, there is nothing to plug in, so you can stand it at the end of an outdoor sofa, beside a garden bench or next to a table on the terrace. Its 270 lumens give a gentle pool of warm light for reading or talking through the evening, rather than lighting the whole garden. The panel charges from daylight, and as general guidance it does best in an open, sunny spot, so choose a place that catches the sun during the day. The white finish looks clean against brick, timber and planting alike, and the narrow profile keeps it from crowding a small balcony or courtyard.

The body is steel, with a white stem and a white shade, and the lamp weighs 2.16KG packed. Power is stored in a Li-ion battery of 1800mAh, the lamp switches by touch, and there is a USB port as well. Keep the solar panel clear of leaves and dust so it can make the most of the daylight. The installation instructions are available as a download, so you can read through the set-up before you start.
