Description

Our Roccanova solar LED floor lamp is a slim steel design in an earthy terracotta, with a drum-shaped head, a thin stem and a round disc base. It stands 120cm tall, with a head 13.5cm in diameter and a base 20cm in diameter, so it needs very little floor space. A solar panel is set into the top of the head, and the integrated LED gives 270lm at 2.8W in a warm 3000K. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can stay out in the garden rather than being carried indoors every evening.

This is a lamp for a patio, a terrace or a seating corner in the garden, where it can stand beside an outdoor sofa or a pair of chairs and bring light to the place people sit. Because the panel charges from daylight, there is no plug and no socket to find, which suits gardens without outdoor power. As general guidance, it does best in an open, sunny spot. The terracotta finish sits comfortably against brick, timber and planting, and the narrow stem keeps it from crowding a small space.

The body is steel, and the body and shade share the same terracotta colour, so the lamp reads as one clean line from base to head. Inside is a Li-ion, 1800mAh battery, and the lamp works by a touch control. There is a USB port as well. It weighs 2.083KG packed, so moving it to another corner whenever you want the light somewhere else is easy. Installation instructions come as a download, and they are worth keeping somewhere handy.
