Rena LED Square Recessed Ground Light IP68 - Stainless Steel

The Rena is a 130mm square recessed ground light with a stainless steel cover plate fixed over a cast aluminium body, rated IP68 for full submersion protection. An 8W GU10 LED lamp (included) sits behind toughened glass inside the housing, providing 3000K warm white light directed upwards from ground level. The fitting is designed for permanent outdoor installation in driveways, pathways, decking, poolside areas and landscaped borders.

Installation requires cutting a 130mm square aperture in the ground surface and setting the body 182mm into the substrate with the rim flush to the finished surface. The IP68 rating means the fitting can handle direct water exposure including temporary submersion, making it suitable for pool surrounds, water features and drainage channels where other ground lights would fail. The stainless steel cover distributes foot and light vehicle traffic loads across the body without cracking the glass lens.

The cast aluminium body dissipates heat from the LED and resists corrosion in soil contact. The 8W GU10 lamp provides enough output to accent architectural features, mark pathway edges or create pools of light in planted areas without overpowering the surroundings. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light that sits comfortably in residential gardens and commercial outdoor spaces. The fitting carries a 3-year guarantee covering both the housing and the supplied LED lamp.

What does the IP68 rating mean in practice?

IP68 is the highest IP rating for domestic outdoor lighting. The fitting is fully sealed against dust ingress and can be temporarily submerged in water up to 1m depth without damage. This makes it suitable for poolside installation, water feature surrounds and areas where surface water pools during heavy rain.

Can it handle vehicle weight?

The stainless steel cover distributes loads across the cast aluminium body, so the fitting can handle light vehicle traffic such as occasional car parking on a driveway. For areas with regular heavy vehicle traffic (delivery lorries, HGVs), a commercial-grade recessed uplight with a thicker cover plate would be more appropriate.

Is the LED replaceable?

Yes. The fitting uses a standard GU10 socket, so the 8W LED lamp can be replaced with any GU10 bulb up to 8W if it fails outside the guarantee period. The cover plate unscrews to access the lamp.

What installation depth is required?

The body requires 182mm of clear depth below the finished ground surface. If installing in shallow soil over a hard base, you may need to excavate the base or build up the surrounding surface level to achieve this depth.
