Description
The Reels is a 35cm flush ceiling light built around a ribbed white glass globe that mounts directly to a gold metal canopy. The glass is formed with horizontal ribs running around the sphere, which scatter light outward in soft bands rather than as a single hard point. A single E27 bulb inside the globe (sold separately) provides the light source, with the ribbed glass acting as the diffuser.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendant drop would be impractical, the Reels sits just 28cm below the ceiling line. This makes it suitable for hallways, landings, cloakrooms, small bedrooms and bathrooms rated IP20 or above (this fitting is rated IP20, so avoid direct water exposure). The flush-mount design keeps the light out of head-height zones in compact spaces while still providing adequate ambient light for the room footprint.
The gold finish on the canopy has a brushed satin texture that reduces glare under daylight and pairs with warm-toned interiors, brass fixtures and traditional joinery. The ribbed glass globe weighs approximately 1.2kg when fitted, distributing load across the ceiling fixing rather than relying on a chain or rod. The E27 base accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to set colour temperature and brightness according to room use.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Reels take?
The fitting accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting in living spaces.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The Reels sits just 28cm below the ceiling line with no adjustable drop, making it ideal for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendant lights would hang into head-height zones.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against water ingress. It can be used in bathrooms only if positioned well away from showers, baths and basins (typically Zone 3 or outside designated bathroom zones). For areas with direct water exposure, an IP44 or higher fitting is required.
How is the ribbed glass cleaned?
The glass globe can be removed from the canopy for cleaning. Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth and dry thoroughly before refitting. The ribs collect dust over time, so periodic removal and cleaning maintains light output.
