Description
Set out as a slim rectangle in a soft light gold, this is a pendant that spreads its light along a run rather than gathering it in a single spot. Eight integrated LED lights give a warm white output that suits a room used in the evening, and the driver is supplied with it. It measures 53 x 33cm, so it reads as a horizontal shape overhead without dominating a modest ceiling. The suspension can be shortened or let down to suit the height you need, and since it is not dimmable we would put it on a standard switch.
Over a dining table is where it makes most sense, held above the centre so the rectangle follows the line of the table below. It works equally well across a kitchen island or a long breakfast bar, and we reach for a shape like this in a wide hallway where a round pendant would leave the ends of the space dim. The light is ambient rather than focused, so pair it with a task lamp or downlights where you chop or read. It is meant for dry rooms indoors.
The light gold finish is warm without being brassy, and it looks best kept free of dust: a dry microfibre cloth over the outer faces, and a barely damp one for anything greasier, with the power off and the fitting cold. Because the LEDs are built in, there are no lamps to buy or replace. It carries a three year warranty. The same design is made as a round pendant in several diameters and as a longer rectangle, so a matching set can be built across an open-plan floor.

Frequently Asked
How much light does it give out?
The eight integrated LEDs produce around 4000 lumens in total at 3000K warm white, which is enough for general lighting over a dining table or island.
Can I put it on a dimmer switch?
No. This one is non-dimmable, so it should be wired to a plain on/off switch. Fitting a dimmer can cause flicker and shorten the life of the LEDs.
How high can it hang?
The drop adjusts between 240mm and 3000mm, so it can sit close under a standard ceiling or hang low over a table in a tall room.
What happens when the LEDs reach the end of their life?
They are rated at around 30,000 hours, which is many years of normal evening use. As they are integral rather than replaceable lamps, the fitting is replaced as a whole at that point.
What size table does it suit?
At 53 x 33cm it is well matched to a table seating four to six, centred over the top. For a longer table, the same design is made in a wider rectangle.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry interiors only, so keep it to dining rooms, kitchens, hallways and living spaces.
