Description
The Ravelle is a 660mm alabaster table lamp built around a fluted rectangular column of natural Spanish alabaster, capped and footed in brushed brass, with a rectangular soft white fabric shade above. The column carries vertical channelling cut into one face of the stone, giving the otherwise architectural form a tactile play of light and shadow when the E27 bulb (sold separately) is lit. Mineral veining runs through the alabaster, so each lamp shows a different pattern of greys, browns and creams.
At 400mm long and 250mm wide at the shade, the Ravelle is sized for console tables, larger bedside tables and sideboards rather than smaller occasional surfaces. The horizontal spread of the rectangular shade pairs with the upright stone column to give a balanced, grounded silhouette that works well flanking a sofa, sitting either side of a bed, or on a hallway console. The brushed brass top cap and plinth tie the lamp to brass hardware elsewhere in a room without competing with it.
The alabaster column is solid stone rather than a veneer, which gives the lamp a substantial presence and allows light to glow softly through the thinner sections of the fluting when lit. The shade is a soft white fabric over a PVC liner, producing a warm, diffused downward and outward light suited to ambient and reading use. Brushed brass detailing has a low-sheen finish that softens reflections from the surrounding room.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Ravelle take?
The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the soft white shade and the warm tone of the alabaster column.
Does the alabaster column itself light up?
The bulb sits inside the shade above the column, so the primary light spread is through the fabric shade. The thinner fluted sections of the alabaster pick up some glow from ambient light around the lamp, but the column is not internally illuminated.
What size table suits this lamp?
At 400mm long, 250mm wide and 660mm tall, the Ravelle is best suited to console tables, sideboards and larger bedside tables of around 500mm depth or more. It is too large for small occasional tables.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone.
