Description

This ribbed glass bauble is a Christmas tree decoration that brings a whole rainbow to the branches, with bright stripes of red, pink, turquoise and green running from top to bottom. Each stripe sits on its own raised rib, so the round shape reads as a ring of curved panels rather than a plain sphere, and the high-gloss finish turns every panel into a little mirror for the lights around it. It measures 8cm across, 8cm deep and 16.5cm high overall. A fine gold cord at the top is ready for hanging.

We like it most on a tree that leans into colour. Mixed with other brights it adds to the cheerful clash, and on a tree of plain greens and golds it becomes the bright spot the eye finds first. It works just as well away from the tree, hung from a mantelpiece garland, a doorway or a branch in a vase, where the ribs catch daylight as well as fairy lights.
