Description

The Radiara is a 20W constant current LED driver from Ideal Lux, delivering a fixed 250mA output to LED lighting installations via 1-10V dimming control. The driver measures 111mm long by 52mm wide in a white plastic housing and carries an IP20 rating for indoor use only.

Designed for residential, retail and office LED installations where lighting levels need to vary across the day, the driver accepts standard 230V mains input and outputs a controlled 250mA current to connected LED modules. The 1-10V dimming interface requires a separate 1-10V dimmer control (not included) wired to the driver's control terminals, allowing brightness to be adjusted from full output down to approximately 10% depending on the connected LED load.

The constant current output maintains a steady 250mA regardless of voltage fluctuations or LED degradation over time, which extends LED lifespan compared to constant voltage drivers. The compact 111mm x 52mm footprint fits inside most ceiling voids, recessed light housings and modular track systems without needing dedicated mounting space. The white plastic housing includes thermal protection and short-circuit protection to prevent overheating and damage to the driver or connected LED fixtures.

What dimming system does it support?

The Radiara uses 1-10V dimming control. This requires a separate 1-10V dimmer control unit (not included) wired to the driver's control terminals. It is not compatible with phase-cut or trailing-edge dimmers.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoor installations?

No. The IP20 rating restricts this driver to dry indoor locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens with splashback zones, or any outdoor applications. For wet or outdoor use, an IP65 or IP67 rated driver is required.

What LED loads is it compatible with?

The driver delivers a constant 250mA current, so it is compatible with LED modules, strips or downlights designed to operate on 250mA constant current. The total wattage of connected LEDs should not exceed 20W. Check the LED product specification to confirm it requires 250mA constant current rather than constant voltage.

How is it installed?

The driver is typically installed inside a ceiling void, track housing or recessed light enclosure. Mains input connects to the driver's live, neutral and earth terminals, and the LED load connects to the output terminals. The 1-10V control wires from the dimmer connect to the separate control terminals. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with IET Wiring Regulations.
