Description

The Radiara is a 12W constant current LED driver from Ideal Lux, delivering a stable 250mA output to power compatible LED lighting fixtures. The driver maintains consistent current regardless of minor input voltage fluctuations, which helps extend LED lifespan and prevents flicker. A 1-10V dimming interface allows brightness control when paired with a compatible dimmer controller.

Designed for residential, retail and commercial installations where LED downlights, spotlights or strip lighting require regulated power, the Radiara fits behind ceiling voids, under kitchen cabinets and in similar concealed locations. The compact 132mm x 30mm casing allows it to tuck into tight installation spaces, and the IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor environments. The driver includes built-in overheat and short-circuit protection to prevent damage from installation faults or component failure.

The white plastic housing includes screw terminals for both mains input and low-voltage output, with clear labelling on the unit body. The 1-10V dimming input requires a separate pair of signal wires from a compatible controller, which modulates the driver output between 10% and 100% brightness. At full output the driver delivers 12W across the 250mA constant current rail, making it compatible with LED arrays rated at approximately 48V forward voltage.

Frequently Asked

What LEDs is this driver compatible with?

The driver provides a constant 250mA current at 12W total output, which suits LED arrays with a forward voltage of approximately 48V. Check your LED fixture specifications for current requirements — if the fixture specifies 250mA constant current operation, this driver is compatible.

How does 1-10V dimming work?

The driver accepts a 1-10V DC control signal from a separate dimmer controller. A 10V signal delivers full brightness (100%), while a 1V signal dims to approximately 10%. The control signal requires two additional low-voltage wires between the dimmer and the driver.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the driver is not protected against moisture ingress and must be installed in a dry location. For bathroom installations the driver should be mounted outside zones 0, 1 and 2, such as in a loft space or adjacent room, with only the LED fitting itself positioned within the bathroom.

What protection does it include?

The driver includes overheat protection, short-circuit protection and overcurrent protection. If the driver detects a fault condition it will shut down output to prevent component damage, and will attempt to restart once the fault is cleared.
